2006 WebBall Hitting Challenge
This is our fourth major Nose 2 Nose challenge, the second on Hitting, and we believe the most interesting yet... the opinions are more diverse than even we expected; there are ideas in here that we have never encountered before.
How we set this up.

As with all previous Challenge events, we invited recognized instructors to provide their take on a specific topic. For this Spring 2006 event we narrowed the topic to hitting cues. We asked each author to write specifically about the key aspects of their hitting instruction that they believe are most important to the student/player. What do they emphasize? What are the cues they - and you - might look for and communicate? What is a 'good teach' and what is merely a distraction.

The essays take very different approaches - from one that focuses on a hitting skill most coaches seldom teach, to another which attempts to discuss every cue ever used. There are mainstream ideas, and radical new approaches. We hope you enjoy the results of their efforts.

The Results

Once we closed off the voting, we revealed the authors, tabulated the results, and posted voter comments as well.

All challenge articles express the opinions of the authors (and voters) and do not necessarily reflect the approach recommended by WebBall.
